Director Jezabel Montero

Director’s Statement

I am so proud of my cast and crew of this film.  We shot fifteen set ups, in one location, in twelve hours.  Everyone was incredibly focused and committed, but we had an amazingly hilarious time, because after all, it is a comedy.  I write and direct mainly female driven and female centric projects, so this ideally fulfilled my company’s mission.

I was inspired to make a film in a therapist’s office for two reasons:  1) I really did have therapy sessions with my sister and suffice it to say they were a bust and 2) I love “Law & Order:  SVU” and was inspired by all the cops, doctors and therapists that are always on the show, trying to help solve cases;  plus the show is lead by a woman.  The twist here is that this is a family “case” that NEVER gets solved or resolved;  it’s a situation that I thought would lend itself to comedy and add to the “cop drama” theme.  Except on that show, the case always gets solved.  Not so much, in real life.  Because, let’s face it, family drama always remains a “cold case.”
