Toronto-based Writer-Director Nathalie Younglai started in factual TV as continuity girl and rose up through the ranks to Story Editor and Director on the Gemini Award-winning shows ‘TIL DEBT DO US PART (Slice) and PRINCESS (Slice), as well as CSA-nominated TESSA & SCOTT (W Network). She was director on the short, THE SOUND THAT BROKE THE SILENCE (Reel World Film Festival). Nathalie has written in children’s television on THE MAGIC SCHOOLBUS: RIDES AGAIN (Netflix), DINO DANA (TVO, Amazon) and 16 HUDSON (TVO). In the primetime TV world, Nathalie story coordinated on BELLEVUE (CBC) and had a drama series in development with eOne/Shaw and RDF. Her script, HOLY FATHER, won the 2013 Telefilm New Voices Award and her play, BANANA GIRLZ, was invited to be a part of fu-GEN Asian-Canadian Theatre’s playwriting unit. A strong advocate for diversity, Nathalie founded the Indigenous & Creatives of Colour in TV & Film networking group and has participated in various industry panels and juries. Nathalie currently sits on the newly-formed WGC Diversity Committee and is a recipient of the 2017 ACTRA Toronto Sandi Ross Award.
